Participants from both the United States and Canada participated in the February 2007 event. They left Greenville at the south end of Moosehead Lake at 9 a.m. on February 10th. We had many folks who came early to watch the mushers and their canine athletes prepare to go out on the trail. The dogs could hardly contain their excitement as they were finally able to compete after all the months of training. This year's trail headed north up the lake, turning east into Sandy Bay and crossing the Lily Bay Road. Through public and private lands and the famed 100 Mile Wilderness, they made their way to Brownville Junction, where they took a mandatory two hour rest before heading back to Greenville for the finish. It was an all day and into the night event with teams starting to arrive back in Greenville around 7:00 p.m. and finishing around 11:30 p.m.
